It is my goal to become more aware of Gods presence in my life. So, as I begin a new year I am beginning a new Blog for the sole purpose of recording in one sentence every day, a way that I have seen God during the course of that day.

At first I thought I would make this Blog private, but I have decided that perhaps there might be others who would want to comment on how God had revealed himself to them during the course of their day. I know for a fact that I see God when I look for him. So I'm off to observe him as I begin this new year!

I saw God today -

January 2009
1.   As I watched a young wife tend to her wheelchair bound husband
      at the movie theater.
2.   When a friend called to ask about my sister.
3.   In the "surprise" of a coral pink Camelia bush in early bloom.
4.   As I listened to the blend of voices singing together at Church this 
      morning.
5.   From under His hand of protection as I drove on the highway for
      an hour in HEAVY rain.
6.   As blue sky and sunshine broke through the dark clouds.
7.   Upon learning that my sister was being released from the
      hospital after surgery.
8.   In the beauty of a coral sunrise.
9.   Through the helpful hands and courtesy of friendly strangers who     
      helped us change a flat tire as we traveled on the highway in another 
      state.
10. In the brave resolve and steely strength of my sister as she begins her
      fight with breast cancer.
11.  In His gift of forgiveness for a selfish decision I made.
12.  In Psalms 46.
13.  When my 14 yr old dog ran with the playfulness of a pup.
14.  When I received great news today (about an answered prayer) via
        an email.
15.  In the comfort & warmth of "home" on a cold, blustery, day.
16.  In the face of good friends as I sat across from them at lunch today.
17.  As the temperature climbed and the sun appeared after several days
       of unseasonably cold weather.
18.  In the luxury of a lazy Sunday afternoon spent with my family.
19.  Through the calm, reassuring words of Psalms 116:7.
20.  In the jubilation of Innaguration Day as power changed
       peacefully from one person to another. 
21.  In an unexpected phone call.
22.  As I watched a giant B-52 bomber (from a nearby AF base)
       soar gracefully, majestically , overhead.
23.  In a fun evening spent with J & S as we celebrated our 5th
       "Gotcha Day" together at a movie and dinner out. 
24.  In the warmth and comfort of home. 
25.  As J and I shared in the chatter & laughter of S, her boyfriend,
       and her best friend, as we all had lunch together.
26.  In the tired eyes of my husband after a long, selfless, day at work. 
27.  In the comfort & familiarity of a warm blanket and my favorite chair.
28.  As I gave S medicine, realizing how fortunate we are to live where  
       we have medicine readily available when our children are ill. 
29.  When I chose to remind myself of His presence, even on a so called
       "bad day" when a variety of things went wrong.
30.  Upon receiving a phone call from a friend I haven't talked with in
        months
31.  As I was able to reach my doctor on a Saturday to get a 
       prescription, rather than having to wait until Monday!

February 2009
1.   As I wrote checks to pay our monthly bills, knowing God is the
      giver of the money we are blessed with.
2.   In the simple pleasure of freedom to come & go as I pleased
      shopping and running errands.
3.   In the scent of "freshly mown grass" as I drove by a worker who
      was mowing the right-of-way next to the highway.
4.   When I received some relief for an on-going dental problem.
5.   Through the fun & comraderie of a Girls Day Out with friends.
6.   In the surroundings of home.
7.   As we shared a meal with friends.
8.   In the completion of a difficult job.
9.   In the gentle, warm, spring-like rain. 
10. As I counted a few of my many blessings.
11. While reading a very kind note from a friend in regard to my sister's
       fight against cancer.
12.  As I received and enjoyed a giggly, chatty, phone call from the 
       Granddolls.
13.  In the order of a day where everything happened as scheduled.
14.  In the exchage of gifts & sentiments on this Valentine's Day.
15.  Through a compliment given to me by someone at church.
16.   In the youthful, innocent laughter of Princess and her friends.
17.   As I prayed for my sister's health and wondered if her tests
        reports will be good, or more bad news.  
18.   When my sisters test results came back GOOD!
19.   As I met with a group for a new Bible Study.
20.   While reading some Bible verses in Habakkuk.
21.   As our family watched a movie ("Fireproof") together.
22.   During the Praise & Worship of the morning church service.
23.   In an answer to my prayer!
24.   In the reflection of the sun upon the lake.

March 2009
1.   In the face of friends who traveled a great distance to visit with us.
2.   As we sat on the patio of a restaurant sharing food and laughs with
      friends.
3.   In the simple joy of listening to an audiobook while driving to pick
      Princess up from school.
4.   In the warmth of sunshine on my arms on this early Spring day.
5.   As I held a baby & watched him smile & listened to him "talk".
6.   As I read  I Samuel 3:1-10.
7.   In the 80 degree weather and Spring trees & flowers all in bloom.
8.   In the lazy afternoon of a Spring-like day.
9.   As I did my homework for my Bible study class.
10.  As princess and I enjoyed watching TV together in the evening.
11.  In the discipline of a physical work-out.
12.  As I celebrated & reminisced about the birth of our first child on 
       this day 39 years ago!
13.  Through the protection & safety  He provided as we drove through
        two states during heavy rainfall.
14.   In the giggle and chatter of our three grand dolls! 
15.   In what appeared to be a very close-call as a pickup truck
        squeezed in between our vehicle and a semi and bumped the
        back of the semi in doing so.
16.   In the comfort of "home".
17.   As Princess and I shared a "giggling fit".
18.   In the smile of Princess' BFF as we celebrated her 15th
        Birthday at a dinner hosted by her Mom.
19.   In the luxury of a Spring day spent shopping and at lunch with
        a good friend.

21.   As I prayed for my Sister and her needs.
22.   As I made a safe "solo" drive to Oklahoma.
23.   As he met the needs of my sister on this very difficult day.
24.   On the long, safe drive home in heavy rain.
25.   In the printed text of an email confirming answered prayer!
26.   In the strength, stamina, and energy of a good physical work-out.
27.   In the rich purple flower blooms of Spring in my garden.
28.   In the easy flow of conversation around a friends table for
        dinner.
29.   While on an afternoon Mother & Daughter shopping outing with
         Princess.
30.   In happy news that came via email.
31.   Through the kindness of a neighbor who came to tell us we had
         left our car lights on.

April 2009
1.   As I thought about the freedom we have in America to come & go
      as we please.
2.   At our Thursday morning Bible Study.
3.   As I was overcome with "love & happiness" looking at a photo of
      our three granddolls.
4.   In the joy of a 77 degree day with sunshine!
5.   As we celebrated our church's 10th anniversary!
6.   In the privilege of enjoying a leisurely day at home.
7.   While running errands with a great girl friend!
8.   In the funny, tail-wagging love of my dog, Kramer. 
9.   In the laughter & girl-talk among my Bunko friends.
10. As we traveled surrounded on all sides by storms, yet we remained
      untouched by any rain as we pulled into our DS's at Atlanta.
11.  Sharing a fun day of shopping with our youngest son and his wife.
12.  In the fun of an Easter Sunday shared with T & A.
13.  In the safety of the long drive home and the comfort of "coming home".
